Guide for users to input details in the asset section of consumer asset application

Asset

  1. Purchase Price

    1. Enter the total cost of the asset (e.g. 28,000).

  2. Asset Type

    1. Click the dropdown and select what kind of asset it is (e.g. Car, Ute, Equipment).

    2. Once Asset type is selected, an additional set of fields appears to help validate the vehicle’s identity via lookup tools like Blueflag or Glass's Guide.

  • Select Condition

    • Choose whether the vehicle is New or Used.

  • Select Year

    • Choose the year of manufacture.

  • Select Make

    • Pick the vehicle brand (e.g. Honda, Kia, Ford).

  • Select Model

    • Options appear based on your chosen Make and Year.

  • Select Variant (if applicable)

    • Further refines the model to match engine size, trim, etc.

  • Full Model Name

    • Will be auto-populated based on previous fields or selectable from a dropdown.

  1. Type of Sale

    1. Choose from options like:

      1. Private

      2. Dealer

      3. Auction

  2. Make

    • Enter the manufacturer (e.g. Toyota, Ford).

  3. Model

    • Enter the model name (e.g. Corolla, Ranger).

  4. Condition

    • Use the dropdown to select:

      • New

      • Used

  5. Year of Manufacture

    • Select or type the year the asset was built (e.g. 2020).

  • If the vehicle still doesn’t show up or match, scroll down and click “ADD ASSET DETAILS MANUALLY” to input it yourself.

Choose New, Used, or Demo

Year of Manufacture

Four-digit year (e.g., 2021)

Letters, special characters

Must be numeric and in valid year range (e.g., not 1890 or abcd)
